This morning in Aurora the outside temp read 38 degrees. It's August. That is just sad. Considering that 38 is a great temp for a beautiful late fall morning we decided to dress warmly...it's only supposed to warm up to the 50s today. Maarit is used to wearing a shirt and diaper and going out on to the deck and cruising around while mom and dad have coffee in the morning, but today Daddy had to say we have to wait until it gets warmer. And then he dressed her in a long sleeve shirt, cozy pants and socks. Maarit was so confused about the socks, she sat and pointed to them and gave us repeated questioning looks. She touched them and kicked her feet around on the floor. I don't think she remembers socks, they were one of the first things she gave up wearing when the weather got warm this spring. Mom and Dad put on socks and Maarit had to check our socks out too (check out = bite). And we stayed inside for coffee! It's a confusing morning for our little girl.
However, the magic mirror came through for us so we've already danced to 'Wiggle', 'If you're happy and you know it', and 'Head, Shoulders...etc' Very fun. She knows the music as soon as the first notes play and she has little gestures for each..when 'Wiggle' starts she either stands up on the mirror and shakes her butt or sits and shakes her arms. On 'Head..etc' she smacks her head repeatedly and 'Happy' she claps her hands. It's adorable! Morning time at the Mattson's is so much fun.
