Our August has been mainly about waiting to close and move into our house. It has been a long month so far, but that doesn't mean it hasn't been fun-- and we have taken lots of pictures...although I can not find either camera at the moment. They are both somewhere in boxes, supposedly in a place I would think to look, if I could think clearly at the moment.
We are finally moved into our own house! Many of our things are even unpacked and we have already painted the kitchen. However, we realize that we buy houses with potential, not houses that are ready to move into. So.... we are spending most of our time painting, planning what carpet to rip out first, debating flooring options and determining if we are getting a new garage or a new kitchen. Oh boy.
In a few years, we will be able to say that this is a beautiful house. At the moment, it is a bit of a project. But the lake is lovely. The yard is amazing. Maarit and Gus have both enjoyed the sandy beach and Maarit is thrilled that Karhu is finally back living with us. Karhu has learned to hunt frogs in the weeds. We are beginning to feel very comfortable here despite the mess. Pictures soon.
