I realized the other day that November flew by and we never even had a chance to update any pictures from our frigid, fast month.
The ice on the lake was ready for walking and skating by mid November. Maarit was really excited to try making the awesome ice rink we had last year, but we found that the lake did not freeze as nice this year, lots more bumps and cracks. It was a windy month though. However, a few bumps didn't stop us from having fun on the ice.
Maarit and Gus have been very excited about hockey this winter and with their new hockey sticks they have having fun on the ice and in the house! Maarit keeps calling her hockey stick a pole. It doesn't matter how many times we tell her it is a stick...she's stuck in skiing.
Gus loves to pull his sleds around the lake. He decided that I should get in the sled and he would pull me. He tried and tried to pull me, sweet man.
Daddy and Gus ended up wearing matching sweaters one day so we had to take a picture!
Daddy had his 36th birthday. We celebrated with a giant chocolate chip cookie and Gus's birthday greeting : Happy To You! Justin and his dad spent the day putting up the wall in our old garage space so we can turn it into a new room.
Over Thanksgiving the Koch family and Kristopher and Shanna came to celebrate us. The kids had fun with these cool light up punch balloons Auntie Shanna brought:
We spent the whole weekend skiing and skating on the lake.
And snuggling inside!
This past weekend we went to the Norwegian Julebyen in Knife River. Gus told Santa "NO! NO! NO!" he was not into Santa at all.
But he really loved this train....
After a few busy weekends Gus came down with an ear infection and strep throat the past few days. He and I have been staying home and snuggling. Neither of us feel well at all. Hopefully the medicine will kick in and help Gus get back to normal, although I am enjoying all the extra snuggles.
