This year, Daddy's birthday fell on Thanksgiving Day. Since we work at an International School, we do not have a Thanksgiving Holiday. We decided to use a personal day and have a family celebration day at home. It was a randomly beautiful sunny day in Stavanger!
Maarit woke up and was so excited to give Daddy his birthday gifts. This year she was pretty adamant about certain things she wanted to pick out for him. This lego set was one of them. She chose a mining truck with this funny miner guy. It took them about 2 hours to assemble all of the parts. The truck is really cool and actually dumps. It reminds us of the trucks in Virginia, MN.
Maarit chose a special outfit for the day. Yes, that is a swimming suit over a shirt and tights with a special sparkly purple belt.
I was able to enjoy a day of cooking and preparing a Thanksgiving Feast. We invited some of our friends for dinner and had a lovely celebration.
Daddy requested Swedish Apple Pie as his birthday cake, Maarit had to help him blow out his candles.
It was a great day! Maarit made sure to let everyone know that Daddy is now 34!!! She likes that they both have 4 in their ages.
