We celebrated Christmas in Norwegian style with our family Christmas on Christmas Eve. Maarit could hardly wait for the evening to come- she was just about to burst after dinner because she was so excited to give the gifts she had picked out and made for us. Gus was not all that interested after he got this "Neigh", he just wanted to bounce, but after a little help from his Ditty (sister) he got the hang of it and he was excited about opening gifts.
The favorite gift this year was a little circus tent that Gus got for his room. Both he and Maarit love hiding in there and they spent all Christmas Eve and all Christmas Day playing together in the tent.
On Christmas morning we had stockings and gifts from Santa right away and then the rest of the day we spent celebrating Gus's birthday.
We put up his new crazy swing in his room. He loves to hang on it with his hands and feet just like the little monkey he is! Papa is pretty worried that this is not safe, but we got the swing and put it in his room because he was spending a lot of time hanging off the kitchen table just like this! We thought better to land on a soft carpeted floor than the table legs.
Later in the afternoon, Nana and Papa came up to spend Gus's birthday with us. Gus was pretty comfortable with gifts by then and he tore into their packages right away, he helped everyone open their gifts.
