Maarit had a busy weekend!
On Saturday we held her Welcoming Ceremony at our home. We wanted to have a celebration for Maarit where we could recognize her mentor parents (Craig and Merry, Ryan and Sarah) and officially welcome her to the world. Justin played a few songs and we had 3 readings. It was a similar format to our wedding and even held under the arbor my brother built for our wedding! We planted a tree for Maarit, all the children helped dig the hole and plant the tree...it was pretty cute. After the ceremony there was, of course, wiffle ball for all!
The next day, Daddy and both Grandpas and Uncle Kurt and Ryan roofed our house. They did the whole roof in one day! It was A LOT of work and we are so very grateful. It is raining today so we will find out if they did a good job! Hopefully there will be no more leaks when it rains!
Thank you to everyone who helped us celebrate Maarit and thank you very very very much to those who helped roof our house. It was great to see family and friends and spend some time together. Maarit was pretty tired out after the long weekend. She took lots of naps on Monday and slept really good last night.
