What's Happening at Klovsteinveien 10

These have been a lovely few weeks for us. Full of snow, dinner parties, baby showers and lots of snuggle time.  Maarit and I are fully healthy again after a week of fevers and ickiness.  School days are going well for all of us and with a week long break coming up- we have a great trip to Scotland planned that we are very much looking forward to.

Maarit's class has been learning numbers and counting.  She brought home her first ever homework and  was excited to sit down and work on it.  (Someday in the not too distant future I will have to show her these pictures to remind her how studious she was at 3.)  We thought it was precious that she had her first ever homework.

Just before the sickness got into full swing, we had a lovely Science Department dinner. Maarit played marble run with the physics teachers and enjoyed the competition to build the best run.  We have decided that before they all come over next time, we need more pieces for our marble run. There just simply were not enough pieces to keep all the science geeks happy!

An icy little creek photo from a walk in the woods.

Last Friday we woke up to about 8 inches of fresh snow in Stavanger.  The walk to school was an interesting one.  We ought to have skied and been proper Norwegians, but realized how much snow there was a bit too late.  However, we made it to school on time walking through the drifts while most of our students who bus were quite late.  It was a fun day at school for me at recess duty, the kids loved the snow and Maarit and her friends had a blast playing in the snow together.  The beautiful snow has now settled into a wonderfully packed, quite thick layer of rutted ice.  It is not so fun to walk on and even less fun to push the chariot.   It has been quite cold here, so hopefully the weather will warm a bit and the ice will melt.

We found the 'honey tree' in the Pooh Bear 100 Acre Wood near our house.  We also found Piglet's house and many others.  I have pictures of all the trees now and hope to make something adorable from them.

These pictures are from a baby shower we hosted with friends in honor of Zsuzsi, Matt and Juilanna's new baby (for Julianna a new baby sister).  The girls dressed up in princess dresses and did static electricity experiments with the balloons.

Anouk, Katlyn, Maarit and Juilianna and their balloons.

Post party- Maarit kicking Daddy's butt at the Wii sword fight.  She gets really into it and it is quite cute to see her play.

Blogger saw fit to loose a few of the pictures I hoped to include in this post...so I will see if I can retrieve them at a later moment.  For now, Maarit and I have some science experiments to work on and Valentine's Day cards to make.   It will be a crafty day at Klovsteinveien 10.
