This past week we took a trip to Ontario, Canada for a family camping trip. Maarit was incredibly excited to set up a tent, cook over a fire and sleep outside. She was even more excited when we got there and found a beautiful sand beach with a playground. We spent our days playing on the beach and our evenings cooking and hanging out by our fire.
Our first night Justin and I heard a moose having his evening snack outside our tent...his snack lasted several hours. The next day a beautiful fox ran through our campsite and we spied some eagles and other critters on a nature drive. We are looking forward to going back for more camping adventures, it is a great park for families.
The Sleeping Giant
On our way back to Two Harbors, we stopped at the old Finnish hall in Thunderbay for breakfast at Hoito's a Mattson family favorite restaurant. The people at the counter next to us were speaking Finnish. It was a fun experience for Maarit, she wanted to know if they were talking Norwegian!
