My little red camera lives in my bag and I rarely remember to upload the pictures, but Maarit inspired me to check the camera the other day. We found some treasures.
This is a picture of Maarit's Ms. Correen robot. Ms. Correen was her teacher for a year and a half and she has missed her this spring. We keep her picture on our fridge along with Maarit's 'make your own robot' magnets. It was only a matter of time until Ms. Correen became a robot.
I stumbled upon this wall in an alley and thought the love notes with very Norwegian names was sweet and something I would like to remember.
There are so many words in the Norwegian language that are also used in English. However, they don't mean the same thing in Norwegian as in English and it leads to some hilarious interpretations for us. This was a sign hanging in a store the other day. I couldn't help it. I had to take a picture. The lady working in the store looked at me like I was crazy.
Gus and I have had a lot of fun this spring with a few of the other mammas and baby boys born this winter. This is a picture I took on a walk around Stokka lake several weeks ago. These are Gus' friends: Logan, and mommy Lyndsey, me and Gus, and Leo and mommy Isabelle. All three boys were born within weeks of each other this December. It has been so much fun to have mommy and baby boy time with these girls.
Gus has difficulty with reflux and it was recommended to start cereals and solids to help alleviate discomfort due to excess spitting up. This photo captured Gus' first experience with cereal. He was not so very excited about oatmeal. However, he loves the puré carrots and potatoes, such a little Norwegian!
Maarit decided the other day that she needed her hair cut. She wanted it cut to her shoulders, which meant taking off about 7-8 inches. Justin thought she would look younger with shorter hair, but sadly she looks even bigger. We are desperately trying to find a way to keep little, but she is growing up and changing so fast.
We helped our friend Patty's daughter Emma on a school project based on the Flat Stanley book. She sent us a Flat Emma and we took her all around town and took pictures. We managed to find a way to reach these trolls that we have always admired. They are basically in someone's yard, but we snuck through and took pictures!
Gus has started to love to sleep with a soft and cozy cuddle. He has this cow and a bunny he got from the hospital in Oslo that he particularly loves.
Daddy captured these pictures of Gus reading his Farm book yesterday morning. Maarit has library every Friday and she usually picks a book to check out for Gus. It is incredibly sweet. She likes to pick what she calls "Fuzz Touch" books (Touch and Feel books) for him.
The Spring is going fast and we have less than 2 months left of our Norway adventure. We have started to move things home which is quite a project! So far we have sent 8 or 9 large packages back to the States. Justin thought the moving process for us was pretty funny so he took pictures of the process. We have packed up suitcases, wrapped them in plastic and packaging tape and then he has to bike them almost 2 miles uphill to the nearest post office. Oof! Makes me tired just thinking about it!
