The end of May and beginning of June have been beautiful in Stavanger. Sunny and warm, some days even almost too sunny and warm. Which is unheard of for Stavanger. We have spent a lot of time on long walks and playing in the sun.
This picture was taken after a long day of playing in the sun, both little ones were very tired and fell asleep together on the couch. A moment likely to never be repeated again, but we're hopeful.
As we walk around in the sun, Gus takes nice long naps that he normally refuses to take. He is a napper only if in perpetual motion. Maarit likes to pick beautiful flowers and decorate his stroller.
One of our favorite places to walk is to the old fire tower in Våland, there are beautiful views of the Stavanger peninsula.
We like to pack a picnic (matpaken) and have lunch whenever we get to where we're going. Here is Maarit with on of the huge and super sweet, yummy carrots grown in the Rogaland area.
It has been so very nice that we have been able to have picnic dinners outside.
One of my most favorite things about staying home this spring is that Gus and I were able to go to every class party and field trip with Maarit's class. Their last field trip was to Soma Gård, a play farm just outside of Stavanger. Soma Gård has to be one of the most amazing play farms every created. They have acres of playgrounds with gorgeous equipment and 3 kinds of bounce houses, tons of animals you can pet and watch, tractor rides and a hay loft with rope swings.
We had such a great day playing and exploring all around the farm.

There were 8 of these motorized diggers, Maarit thought they were awesome!
And who can resist fat baby pigs?
Maarit loved this sheep because he followed her all around up and down the path. He was very friendly.
We went on a tractor pull around the farm with all of her class.
Maarit especially loved the hay loft where the rope swings were. The brave kids climbed on a huge bale of hay and then swung into a pit of hay in the silo. The drop was easily 9 feet and Maarit did it over and over again, she loved it.
Gus loved this calf who licked his head and nuzzled him. I think the calf enjoyed Gus because he smells like milk.
The next few days stayed beautiful so we were able to walk around the lakes and visit the trampoline woods.
We also stopped by some of our favorite neighborhoods like this one in Eiganes.
And old town, Gamle Stavanger.
We discovered this cool rock maze at the Eiganes school yard.
Gus loved watching Maarit bounce on the trampolines at the park!
We hope the weather stays this nice, but it doesn't look promising!
