A couple weekends ago we decided to take a break from the freezing cold and head to a hotel for some swimming and playing. We visited the Minnesota Children's Museum and went on the rides at the Mall of America (Mall IN America, Maarit says). It was supposed to be 30 degrees in the Cities that weekend, but alas...we must have brought awful weather with us because it snowed and was cold the whole time. Oh well, we had fun anyway.

At the Children's Museum there was a cool dinosaur exhibit, Maarit and Gus had a lot of fun climging on the dinos and playing with the giant dino eggs.
This tunnel by the Ant and Woodland exhibit was Gus's favorite part of the museum. He crawled through over and over again!
At the mall, Gus got to try his first ride. Such a big boy!
Maarit visited the rides she remembered from when we were there several years ago, but she quickly figured out that she is tall enough for many of the big kid rides. That's when the fun really started.
After doing the little kid drop and loving it, she spotted the big drop and 'made' me join her to get dropped from the ceiling of the mall. Rides are not my favorite. She is smiling...I am crying.

We had a really nice visit with my friend Cori and on Sunday the Koch's came to visit us and swim. We were all pretty tired out by the end of our weekend. Gus crawled into the suitcase...maybe he was worried we were going to forget to bring him home.
